Willie Carpenter

Mr. Willie Gene Carpenter, age 74, of York, SC passed away on Thursday, February 15th, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:45 pm on Sunday, February 18th, 2024 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy. York, SC 29745. Military Honors will be performed by VFW Post 12136 Honor Guard at 3:45 pm at Bratton Funeral Home.

Willie was born on June 15th, 1949 in Cleveland County, NC. He was the son of the late Paul Carpenter and Ruth Hoyle Carpenter and was the widower of Shirley Clemmer Carpenter. He was a veteran of the US Marines and loved spending his free time on the water fishing.

Willie is survived by his children: Elaine Carpenter, Deborah Wilson (Howie), Charles Carpenter (Sylvia), Loretta Carpenter (Michael Hall); his sisters, Peggy Carpenter and Ellen Ashe; his 22 grandchildren, and his 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Willie was preceded in death by his son, James Eugene Carpenter, and his brothers, Dean, Paul, and Mike Carpenter.
