William Youngblood, Jr. Obituary

With heavy hearts and a deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Mr. William “Bill” Calvin Youngblood Jr.  A United States Marine Veteran, a husband, devoted father to five daughters and a man whose strength, discipline and love shaped generations.

Born October 12,1947 to Mr. William Calvin Youngblood Sr. and Lola Fae Merrill Youngblood, Bill passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026.  He was preceded in death by his father, William Calvin Youngblood Sr, his sister, Kim McGinn and his nephew Calvin Youngblood. He is survived by his mother, Lola Fae Merrill Youngblood, sister Eugenia Evans of Conway, brother, Henry Youngblood of Blackstock and his nieces and nephews.

Born in Greenville SC, Bill graduated in 1966 from Fort Mill High School and joined the United States Marine Corp where he served during the Vietnam War from 1966-1970.  A proud United States Marine, he answered the call to serve and carried the title of Marine with dignity long after his service ended.  The values he embodied- courage, commitment, discipline and integrity- were not just principles he believed in, but standards he lived each day.  Once a Marine, always a Marine.

After retiring from Celanese, Bill continued running a Mobile Welding and Equipment business and was well known for the time he spent doing the things he loved when he took over the Sharon Hardware Store. Although dedicated to his work, he was also a simple man who enjoyed being home with his family, piddling in his shop and tending to his cows.

Above all else, Bill was a loving husband to his wife, Debra Trull Youngblood of 55 years, a daddy to his 5 girls- Stacy Smith (Craig), Sonia McAbee (Bobby), Amanda Cain (Justin), Brandy Thomas (Casey) and Kristy Alexander (Chris). Bill was also a proud and loving Pawpaw to his grandkids-Ethan Cartwright, Michael Cartwright, Jonathan Cartwright, Sarah Parker, Ryan Cartwright, Christopher Cartwright, Brody McAbee, Kelly McAbee and Koley McAbee and a great grandpa to Willow Grace Dover, Atlas Cartwright, William Cartwright, Miley Cartwright and River McAbee, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy and who he treasured watching grow. Those who knew Bill understood that beneath his strong and steady presence was a man of deep love and immense humor.  His dedication to his family was unmatched, and his greatest accomplishment was the legacy he built through all of them.

Bill will be deeply missed by his wife, his girls, his family and everyone who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 4455 Hoodtown Rd. Sharon, SC 29742. A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will begin in the church sanctuary at 5:00 pm with Pastor Larry Nunn officiating. Following the service, military honors will be rendered by VFW Post 12136 Honor Guard for Bill’s dedicated services to a grateful nation.
