Trey Hawkins

Mr. Robert Hampton “Trey” Hawkins III, age 58, of York, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

Born on February 10, 1967, in York County, Trey was the beloved son of Jane Ellen McCameron Starnes and the late Robert Hampton Hawkins Jr. Trey was a devoted father, grandfather, and son, known for his kind spirit and deep love for his family.

He is survived by his loving mother, Jane Ellen McCameron Starnes; his daughter, Nicole Hawkins (Tyler Harris); his son, Gage Hawkins; and his cherished grandchildren: Heylie Harvell, Kaitlyn Bailey, Vanessa Lewis, Kaylee Hawkins, and Riley Hawkins. He is also survived by his stepfather, Larry W. Starnes; his sister, K.C. Hawkins; his brother, Jesse Hawkins and his close friends that felt like family.

Trey was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hampton “Bob” Hawkins Jr., and his grandson, Jesse Anthony Hawkins.

In honor of Trey’s memory, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Humane Society of York County, 8177 Regent Parkway, Fort Mill, SC 29715—an organization close to his heart.
