Susan (Inman) Langford

Susan Inman Langford, age 93, of York, SC passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 17th, 2023.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 21st, 2023 at Rose Hill Cemetery in York, SC with Pastor Nick Setzer officiating. The family welcomes friends to visit after the service at the home of William and Jennifer Langford.

 Susan was born on August 30, 1929 in York, SC. She was the daughter of the late Rufus Monroe Inman and Sarah Carroll Inman and was the widow of her husband of 65 years, John Clyburn Langford, Sr.  Susan was a graduate of York High School and Erskine College. She worked for 35 years for the Department of Social Services; first as the Kershaw County Director and later in the York County office. Susan was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church of York, SC. She was a member of Circle #1, Presbyterian Women, and an honorary Lifetime Membership recipient from the Presbyterian Women for outstanding service and leadership.  Susan was also a member of the Thursday Afternoon Book Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Ms. Langford is survived by her daughter, Sally Langford Dievendorf (Gerry); her sons: Stephen C. Langford, William M. Langford (Jennifer), and John C. Langford, Jr. (Donna). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Catherine Hardy, Margaret Battle, Alexandra Nocilo, Sarah Langford, Taylor Langford, Robert Langford, and Erin Langford; and her eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Susan was preceded in death by her brother, Claude Monroe Inman and her dear sister-in-law, Elizabeth Anne Inman.
