Shirley (Hill) Putnam

Shirley Hill Putnam went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. 

A memorial service celebrating Shirley’s life will be hosted by the Rock Hill Grove Senior Living, 1830 West Main St. Rock Hill, SC 29732 at 11:00 AM on Tuesday January 28, 2025.

Shirley was born on January 8, 1935 in Rock Hill, South Carolina to the late William Thomas Hill and Lois Mae Willie Hill.  She worked as a secretary for many years.  She was married for 47 years to the late William K. Putnam and lived in Florida most of her adult life. They were Christians and attended a Methodist church in Florida as they were able.

After the passing of husband in 2020, she relocated to Rock Hill to be closer to family.  She lived at Rock Hill Grove Senior Living where the residents made her feel like family and the caregivers took excellent care of her during her time there.  Many thanks to her faithful caregivers who lovingly cared for her at Rock Hill Grove. 

Shirely is survived by her sister, Bettye Hill Herndon and spouse, Wayne, and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

In addition to Shirley’s parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Audrey Hill Whiteside, and brothers William Neel Hill and Thomas Harold Hill.

Memorials may be made in Shirley’s honor to the charity of one’s choice.
