Shirley (Eaton) Creighton

Mrs. Shirley Eaton Creighton, age 91, of Hickory Grove, SC, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born on February 22, 1935, in Charlotte, NC. She was the daughter of the late Loyd Callaway Eaton, Sr. and Mamie Lee Banker Eaton. Over the years, Shirley was a small business owner and daycare provider. She was a founding member of the Good Shepherd Church in Steele Creek. You could always find Shirley cooking a meal for the compound or sitting around with a good book. Shirley’s greatest joy was her family, but her love extended far beyond that. Known affectionately as ‘Mawmaw,’ she welcomed everyone with open arms and made them feel like one of her own.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wayne Merl Creighton; her son, Ricky Creighton (Julie); her grandchildren, Amanda Helms (Matt), Bonnie Almond (Greg), Cady Eubanks (Adam), Taylor Flanagan (Sean), and Dalton Creighton (Ashlyn); and her great-grandchildren, Matti Helms, Colton Helms, Creighton Eubanks, Callaway Eubanks, Mamie Almond, Remi Flanagan, Abram Flanagan, Lucy Eubanks, Hazel Creighton, Gray Eubanks, and Madden Almond. She is also survived by her brother, Loyd Callaway Eaton, Jr.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Marlene Norris.
