Shirley (Taylor) Carroll

Mrs. Shirley Taylor Carroll, age 87, of York, SC, went home to be with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at home.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy, York, SC 29745 with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Internment to follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.

Shirley was born on September 18, 1938 in York, SC. She was the daughter of the late James B. Taylor and Verdia Hooper Rogers.  

She was known by all who knew and loved her as the Queen of Antique, thrift and yard sale shopping and dog breeder. She was also known to be a work-aholic. She was a member of the Seekers and Believers Church.

She is survived by her children; Sherrie M. Childers, William F. Martin, Jr., Eddie D. Martin, Lisa A. Biggers (Charlie), Luke Martin, Justin Martin; her siblings; Mary Brimer (Larry), Carson Taylor, John Taylor and her grandchildren; Tammy Childers, Bryan Martin (Lea), Kevin Vinson (Anna), Justin Martin, Tyler Martin, Michael Martin, Shanon Martin, Brittany Huntington, Brittany Dover, Devin Martin, Bray Bostic, Elizabeth Biggers and Carrie Biggers, Billy Joe Martin, and  Dwayne Dover. She is also survived by her great grandchildren; Robert Kizzinsky, Austin Childers, Brandon Childers, Nevaeh Thompson, Calleigh McNeal, Bryleigh McNeal, Bryson Martin, Addilynn Martin, Cade Martin, Avery Vinson, Ellie Bostic, Gracelyn Bostic, Wade Martin, Jaxon Huntington, Mason Dover, Raiden Martin, and Olivia Dover, along with her great great grandchildren;Sara Childers, Tori Childers, Betty Jade Childers, Arriana Kzzinsky, Melani Kzzinsky, Camryn Kzzinsky, Isiah Kzzinsky, Sara Childers and Tory Childers.

In addition to her parents; Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands; William F. Martin and Vernon Carroll along with her siblings; Franklin Taylor, Charles Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Robert Taylor, Helen Shytle (James), and Elsie Sanders (Sam).
