Shane Dover

Mr. Michael Shane Dover, age 51, of Hickory Grove, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Highway, York, SC. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, on the family land, 933 East Main Street, Smyrna, SC, with Pastor Rick Martin and Pastor Chris Mitchell officiating.

Shane was born on November 28, 1974, in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was the son of Susan Cabe Johnson and the late Kenneth Boyd Dover. Shane worked as a foreman for Red Clay Construction and proudly volunteered with the Hickory Grove Fire Department from 2009 until 2020.

Shane had a gift for bringing joy to others. He loved entertaining friends, was a natural jokester, and never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. A devoted Chevrolet enthusiast, he enjoyed racing—especially drag racing, building motors, and fishing. Above all, Shane was a devoted family man who loved deeply and fiercely. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children: Katelyn Shayne Dover; Michael Shane Dover, Jr. (Kalie); and Lyna Suico; his beloved companion, June Patlingrao; and his cherished grandchildren, Willow Grace Dover, John Brandon Adkins, Jr., Michael James Dover, and Gabriella Dover, who is expected soon. He is also survived by his siblings, Samantha D. Warskow and Brian Robertson.
