Selma Abraham Hutchison, age 95, of St. Augustine, FL, peacefully
passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Lancaster Health and
Rehabilitation in Lancaster, SC.
Selma was born on November 25, 1929, in Jacksonville, FL where she spent most of her life. Of Syrian decent she was the daughter of the late Isaac Saig Abraham and Naomi Diab Abraham, and the beloved wife of the late Andrew Hutchison. Selma enjoyed working at Estee Lauder, Ivey's, and Jacksonville schools. She had many different careers throughout the years including owning and running a restaurant. She had a lifelong passion for collecting seashells. Her love for the ocean was unmatched, and she spent countless hours walking along the shore, carefully choosing the most beautiful seashells to add to her collection. She won many awards for her artwork. Family was a priority to Selma, she loved her big beautiful family. Hurricane was her beloved nickname and she would laugh every time anyone called her that.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Monsour Davis; her grandchildren, Crystal Ayers, Rachel Davis Tobey (Andrew), Solomon Davis, and Felicia Monsour; her great-grandchildren, Callie (Arif), Jackson, Ava, Zahra, Aurora, Greer, D’Asia, Adam, Falyn, Fate, Fatein. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Shamaly and Abe Abraham (Cleo) and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Selma was preceded in death by her son, Michael Monsour; her daughter, Theresa Monsour McIntyre; her daughter-in-law Deborah Monsour; her son-in-law Lloyd McIntyre; her sister Louise Seder; and her grandson, Allen Davis.
