Scott Miller Obituary

York, SC – Mr. Scott Allen Miller, age 57, of Blythewood, SC, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

Scott was born on March 28, 1969, in York, SC. He was the son of Shirley Wray Miller and the late Allen Beatty Miller.

Scott was a man who found great joy in the simple things in life, especially time spent with the people he loved. He was a devoted Clemson football fan and a passionate race car enthusiast. Some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, particularly during the Christmas season, when being together and making memories meant so much to him. Scott had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh, bringing his own warmth and personality to those around him. Whenever he had the opportunity, he also enjoyed getting outside to fish.

Many of Scott’s favorite days were spent outdoors, watching football, listening to music, and grilling. These quiet, everyday moments were often the ones he treasured most. He had a generous heart and a genuine desire to help others. Scott proudly supported the Richland County Sheriff’s Department through a program assisting families who had lost a loved one serving as an officer. He also enjoyed playing Santa for needy families, bringing joy to children and families during the Christmas season.

Scott was a proud member of the York Comprehensive High School football team and was part of the 1986 team that won the South Carolina State Championship. His love for his community continued through his involvement with the Clover Jaycees, where he especially enjoyed decorating and participating in the annual Haunted Trail. He made many lasting memories through these experiences and the friendships he formed along the way.

Scott began his career as a building inspector with Richland County and later moved to Blythewood, SC. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to his profession, he earned the highest level of certifications in South Carolina building inspection codes. He continued to advance throughout his career, eventually becoming the manager of inspectors. Scott took great pride in his work and in the knowledge and experience he gained throughout his years of service.

Scott was also a loyal and proud American who proudly flew the colors and held a deep appreciation for his country.

Scott will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Vivian Bushee-Miller; his son, Luke Miller; his mother, Shirley Miller; his brother, Andy Miller; his nephew, Drew Miller; his niece, Allie Miller; along with numerous cousins and many loyal friends who were blessed to know him.
