Sara Traylor Martin

HICKORY GROVE – Sara Traylor Martin of Hickory Grove, SC passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 peacefully at her home and surrounded by her loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Hickory Grove ARP in Hickory Grove, SC. The funeral service will follow at the church at 3 PM with the Reverends Alan Morrow and Boyce Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Sara was born and raised in Hickory Grove. She was the daughter of the late William Ernest Traylor and Clemmie Pursley Traylor and was the widow of Roy Martin. She was a graduate of Hickory Grove High School, worked as a manager of Belk Department Store in Chester, SC, and a devoted member of Parkway Baptist Church in Chester, SC.

Sara is survived by her daughter, Beverly Mitchell (Danny) of Hickory Grove, SC, grandsons, Wes Mitchell and Will Mitchell, both of Columbia, SC; brother David Traylor (Esther), of Harrisburg, NC; and sister Bonnie Benfield of Hickory Grove, SC.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sara was preceded in death by her siblings: Betty Traylor, Helen Moss, Mary Traylor, Charlie Traylor, and William “Bo Peep” Traylor.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Ms. Sara’s caregivers, Marjorie Evans, Dorothy Hull, Tamara Johnson, Curala Powell, Alexia Espinoza and Leslie Burris for their love and dedication.
