Born on August 1, 1930, she was predeceased by George Johnson, her loving husband of 72 years; her parents, Warren and Louise Moss and her brothers Edward, Winfred, James, and Jerry Moss; her sisters, Modra Bedford, Margaret Ann Patterson, and Peggy Robbins.

A woman of faith and a member of Tirzah Presbyterian Church, she loved to sing in the choir and got up most days singing “Oh What a Beautiful Morning”.  She was a loving wife, mother, “MawMaw”, and great-grandmother. A 1946 graduate of Blacksburg, SC High School, she played basketball, served on the debate team and was a member of the Beta Club.

Sara spent 32 happy years working at York Drug Store in York. She loved to fish at the river and would squeal with joy every time she hooked a crappie or a bass. An excellent cook, she spent many hours preparing meals for family gatherings. During the summer months, canning vegetables from their garden was a labor of love. She delighted in the colors of the beautiful produce inside the glass jars. She was known for her sweet smile and happy outlook and was usually the ring leader for fun and games during annual trips with her sisters.

She will be missed every day by her four daughters, Janet  Harding (John) of Clover; Lou Robinson of Pendleton; Sandra Magee of Clemson and Lisa Bratton (David) of York; eight grandchildren, John Harding, Kelly Harding McDaniel; Robbie Robinson, Kristie Robinson Gilbert; Russell and Quin Magee; Tyler Bratton and Katherine Bratton Childers; thirteen great-grandchildren, Megan and Makayla Harding; Natalie, John Marshall, Paul, Anna and Matthew McDaniel; Cooper and Banks Gilbert; Finley and Sara Childers and Leighton and Foster Magee.

She is survived by her sisters Bea Stauber (Bristol), Marlene Earls (Blacksburg), Sue Patton (Matthews) and Gayle Beam (Gastonia), and brother George Moss (Blacksburg) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at White Oak Manor of York, SC for their excellent care, compassion and comfort provided during her brief stay.

Memorials may be made to Tirzah Presbyterian Church, 180 Tirzah Rd., York, SC  29745 or to the Moss Scholarship Fund, Hopewell Baptist Church, 511 Old Chester Rd. Blacksburg, SC  29702
