Ruth (Lanning) Ellis

Ruth Lanning Ellis, 83, of Gastonia, NC passed away on Thursday December 22, 2022 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.

Ruth was a homemaker, and worked in the nursery at Clover First Freewill Baptist Church for many years.

Ruth was born on April 10, 1939 in Waynesville, NC. She was the daughter of the late John Lanning and Dessie Mathis Lanning. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her siblings Louise Parker, Hubert Lanning, Dorothy Gibson, Virgina Rhodarmer, James Lanning, Hazel Robinson, Clarence Lanning, Richard Lanning, Dewey Lanning, and Junior Lanning.

She is survived by her husband June Norman Ellis, sister Florence Caldwell and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM on Saturday January 28, 2023 with a memorial service to follow at 2 PM at Clover First Freewill Baptist Church.
