Roy Milian Stevenson

Mr. Roy Milian Stevenson, age 90, of York, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Belaire Rehab in Gastonia, NC surrounded by his family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy, York, SC. A funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, April 10, at 2:00 PM at Bible Covenant Community Church, 1712 Lincoln Rd, York, SC 29745, with Reverend Gary Teague II officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.

Roy was born on August 13, 1934, in Fairfield County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late David Lawrence Stevenson and Mae Dickerson Stevenson. He was a loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was the devoted husband of 70 years to the late Lorine Nivens Stevenson. Roy was a proud veteran of the National Guard and a faithful member of Bible Covenant Community Church. Roy also attended Harvest Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC.

Roy loved attending church, reading the bible, and hugs from all the special ladies at BCCC and HBC. He loved watching Gamecock Baseball and Football, collecting old money and coins, and traveling to the beach. In his retirement he worked for the Peach Tree and Bush-n-Vine both of York, SC.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Biggers; his granddaughter, Lauren Mault and her husband, Matthew; and their daughter, Alice Katherine Mault. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Stevenson.

In addition to his wife and parents, Roy was preceded in death by his sisters: Virginia McCallum, Eloise Stevenson, and Helen Steen; and his brothers: Ralph Stevenson, L.D. Stevenson, J.W. Stevenson, Huey Stevenson, Ernest Stevenson, and Marion Stevenson.

In honor of Roy’s memory, memorials may be made to Bible Covenant Community Church, 1712 Lincoln Rd, York, SC 29745.
