Roy Ogden

Mr. Roy Douglas Ogden, age 83, of York, SC, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Roy was born on November 24, 1942, in Royston, GA. He was the son of the late William T. Ogden and Blanche Culpepper Ogden and was the loving widower of Sandra Hooper Ogden.

Roy worked as a mechanic and had a true gift for tinkering—he could build cars from the ground up. He enjoyed working on cars and tractors, always staying busy with his hands. In his free time, he found peace in the quiet woods, where he loved to hunt.

Roy is survived by his daughters, Wanda Ogden and Jennifer Wilt (Chris); his grandchildren, Kayla Rea (Josuetl), Tony Conner (Ashley), and Jessica Conner Johnson (Rob); and his brothers, Don Ogden (Faye), Verne Ogden (Rose), and Bill Ogden.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roy was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Young and Grace Carver; and his brothers, James Ogden, Richard G. Ogden, Edward Ogden, and Harry Ogden.
