Roger Leclaire Donel

Mr. Roger Leclaire Donel, age 85, of Clover, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Born on September 23, 1939, in Clarksburg, West Virginia; Roger was the beloved son of the late Charles Donel and Thelma Schumacher Donel.

A memorial service will be held at Bright Light Freewill Baptist church on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 1:00pm with the Reverends Adam Laster and Bruce Kiser officiating.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joy Lavonne Joyce Donel. Also his three daughters, sister Judy Hetzel, twin brother Robert (Judy) who are all in Ohio. In addition; he was survived by his two sisters in law and their husbands, five grandsons, one great granddaughter, seven nieces, two nephews, twenty great nieces and nephews and eight great great nieces and nephews who loved Uncle dearly.

Roger was a machinist and mathematician, loved woodworking, taking family photos and was never without a watch, tape measure or suspenders. He was a member of Bright Light Freewill Baptist Church in York then Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church in Clover; Both for many years serving as usher, and helped wherever he was needed from maintenance to VBS.
