Ricky Nelson Bailes

Mr. Ricky Nelson “Rick” Bailes passed away on December 7, 2024.

Rick was born July 9, 1957 in York, SC. He was the youngest child of the late Martha Jane Gordon Bailes and the late Samuel McFadden Bailes; all of Filbert, South Carolina.

A graveside service will be at 3 PM on Tuesday December 17, 2024 at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Hwy, York, SC 29745 with Pastor Monica Tilley officiating.

Rick attended York public schools. He worked alongside his father, uncle and brother in the family business, Bailes Brothers Construction. Rick was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a Past Master of Alpine Lodge 208 in Clover, SC. He was a former member of First Methodist Church of Clover, South Carolina.

Rick is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Ann Trowbridge Bailes of Monroe, North Carolina along with his daughter Dr. Carrie Ann Bailes (Zachary Gerber) of Ann Arbor, Michigan and his son, Nathan Gordon Bailes of Rock Hill, South Carolina and his fiancée Meghan Oettinger of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also survived by his grandson Phineas Blaine “Finn” Gerber of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Along with his loving and devoted big sister, Margaret Alice “MiMi” Bailes of York, South Carolina, nieces and nephews and a host of cousins.

 In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother Sam I. Bailes of Clover, South Carolina and his sister Sandra Bailes McCarter of Smyrna, South Carolina and his cousin Andrew “Andy” Adams of York, South Carolina.
