Mr. Philip Dean Lawson, age 68, of Chester, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Dean was born on January 27, 1957, in Washington, D.C. He was the son of the late John Ross Lawson and Nadine Butcher Lawson. A man of Christian faith, Dean proudly served his country in the United States Army. He spent his working career in retail management, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Bassett Lawson; his children, Alyson Nell Lawson and Michael Brandon Tino (Cara); his grandchildren, Sydnie Lawson, David Harper, Wesley Harper, Caiden Tino, Laila Tino, and Ella Tino; and his great-grandchild, Oliver Lawson. Also surviving are his sisters, Antoinette Allen and Amanda Tipton (Max); his brother, Pete Lawson (Sheila); his sister-in-law, Stephanie Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his sons, Christopher Michael Lawson and Gregory Scott Tino, and by his brother, Mike Lawson.
