Pete McCole

Mr. Peter “Pete” Romanas McCole, age 54, of York, SC passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Pete was born on March 7, 1972 in Lima, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Jack McCole and Gina Ettorre McCole and the loving husband of Rhonda Hogue McCole.

Pete owned and operated a tax business, a career that reflected his intelligence, dedication, and ability to connect with others. Outside of work, he had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought him great joy. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed following the excitement and competition of racing. Pete also loved flying his remote-control airplanes, spending countless hours enjoying the challenge and freedom they brought. His fascination with space and exploration extended to anything related to NASA, and he was always interested in learning more about the mysteries of the universe. A devoted Star Wars fan, Pete enjoyed the stories and characters that captured his imagination throughout the years. He also loved listening to music, especially Def Leppard, whose songs were among his favorites. Whether he was enjoying one of his many hobbies, following a race, or simply spending time doing the things he loved, Pete lived life with a genuine enthusiasm and curiosity that made him uniquely himself.

Pete is survived by his wife, Rhonda McCole; his six pugs whom he considered his children; his parents, Jack and Gina McCole; and his sister, Karyn M. Hays (Luke). Also surviving are his nieces, Samantha Hays and McKenna Hays; his father-in-law, Ronnie Hogue; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Hogue.
