Patsy Ann (Castor) Coggins

Patsy Castor Coggins, 89, of Charlotte, NC, died September 13, 2022 at TerraBella Senior Living.  She was born April 8, 1933 in Cabarrus County NC, to the late Joe Ray Castor and Esther Lowder Castor. She was a graduate of Winecoff High School and Evans Business College.  Pat was employed by the Concord Telephone Company (now Windstream), retiring as Commercial Marketing Manager after 35 years of service.

Pat lived a full life, raising three children, working outside the home and serving in her church.  She is known for her sense of humor, her clever poems, her encouragement of others and her willingness to help anyone in any way that she could.  She loved her family fiercely and gave her all to others.

Pat was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children Paul Coggins, Ben Coggins and Annabelle Suddreth (David); grandchildren Luther Coggins, Ashley Coggins, Carly Morris (Josh), Katie Suddreth and Daniel Suddreth; great grandchildren Brody Coggins, Tessa Coggins and Abigail Morris; and sister Bettie Castor Overcash.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her brother, Calvin Castor and James Coggins, the father of her children.  

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at Good Shepherd Church (13110 Moss Road, Charlotte) on Friday, September 16 at 1:00pm. Visitation will follow.  A graveside service will be held at Centergrove Cemetery (2531 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis) at 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Good Shepherd Church’s Dementia Support Group (gsumc.org/giving) or a charity of the donor's choice.
