P. Edward Strait

Paul Edward Strait (Eddie), 76,  passed away on August 4, 2024, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.

 Eddie was born on March 23, 1948 in Rock Hill, SC, the son of the late Paul Gill Strait and Mickie Kimbrell Michaels. Eddie graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1967 and attended York Technical College. He retired from Resolute (formerly Bowater) in 2012 after 43 years of service. Eddie and Rosie loved to travel together. Their favorite trip was to Alaska. The last twelve years they enjoyed spending time at Springmaid Campground in Myrtle Beach where they formed many lasting friendships. Eddie also enjoyed cooking for Rosie, fishing, reading books about pirates, and listening to all types of music, especially the music of Jimmy Buffet and beach music. He loved following the career of the Nascar legend, Dale Earnhardt. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his furbaby, Poppet.

 Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Don Ashley and Bobby Suggs; and sister-in-law, Pam Sears Suggs. Eddie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rosanne Sears Strait; daughter, Stacy Strait McConaghy (Jeff); step-father Charles Michaels; sisters-in-law, Janice Sears Ashley and Christy Sears Strait (Eddie); four nieces; two great nieces; one great nephew; and many cousins

. Eddie wished for no memorial service to be held in his honor, but friends are welcome to visit at the home. The family is especially grateful for the love their neighbors always show Eddie and Rosie. The family thanks the staff of Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill, SC, especially Holly, Breland & Lee Ann for their care of Eddie.
