Mr. Norman Leon McDonald, age 87, of Clover, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Norman was born on November 27, 1938, in Gaston County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Lillian Kennedy McDonald. Norman proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a devoted member of Kings Mountain Chapel Methodist Church in York, South Carolina.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Elaine Tucker McDonald; his daughter, Shelley Renee Brown (Karen); his sons, Darrell McDonald (Deborah) and Scott McDonald (Donna); his grandchildren, Taylor McDonald (Cathie), Kenedi McDonald (Daniel), Jason Hudson (Casey), and Matthew Hudson; and his great-grandchildren, Anderson Hudson and Colton Hudson.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Kings Mountain Chapel Methodist Church, 1130 Philbeck Road, York, SC 29745. A memorial service celebrating Norman’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Monica Tilley and Pastor Brian Preveaux officiating. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kings Mountain Chapel Methodist Church, 1130 Philbeck Road, York, SC 29745.
