Myra Sue (Bates) Lattimore

Mrs. Myra Sue Bates Lattimore, age 68, of Bessemer City, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 29, 2026, at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy., York, SC 29745 with a celebration of life will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Mitch Bolin will be officiating.  Burial to follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.

Myra was born on October 21, 1957, in Smyre, NC, to Patricia McDonald Bradley and the late John Thomas Bates. She was the wife of Robert Dale Lattimore.  

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her son, Shane Brown (Christie), step son, James David Lattimore, along with grandchildren Shane Brown and Andrew Brown,  her siblings, Tony Bates (Jackie), and Martha Skipper (Steve). She is also survived by her best friend Virginia Sue Aldridge and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Myra’s memory to Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepherds Way Dr., Dallas, NC 28034.
