Mildred (Leopard) Patrick

 Ms. Mildred Leopard Patrick, age 89, formally of York, SC passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Brandon Wilde Pavilion in Augusta, GA.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Rose Hill Cemetery in York, SC with Pastor Matt Burrell officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the committal.

Mildred was born on October 12, 1933 in the Township of Beech Springs, SC. She was the daughter of the late Elbert Garland Leopard and Geneva Brown Leopard and the widow of Dr. John Ackerman “Jack” Patrick, Jr. Mildred was an active church member at First Presbyterian Church in York. She was a graduate of North Greenville Junior College and Furman University. She was a high school English teacher before becoming a mother.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Walters (Paul) of Augusta, GA; and her sons, Shane Patrick (Martha) of Lake City, SC, Tim Patrick (Julie) of Taylors, SC. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth Patrick, Jane Shields (Sam), Patrick Walters, Sarah do Nascimento (Mario), Brynn Belland (Jordan), John Patrick, and Lauren Kay (Tommy); and her brother, Charles Leopard.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Patrick and sister, Helen Leopard Lewis.
