Mr. Michael “Mike” Lynn Neelands, age 70, of York, SC, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Hospice and Community Care, Wayne T. Patrick Building.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Filbert Presbyterian Church, 2066 Filbert Highway, York, SC 29745. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC, with Pastor Dave Hall and Mr. Dan Hall officiating.
Mike was born on December 17, 1955, in Rock Hill, SC. He was the son of the late Marshall William Neelands and Lila Rose Neelands. He was a graduate of Clover High School and Winthrop University and worked as a logistics manager. He was a faithful and loyal member of Filbert Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and youth group leader. Mike was an avid South Carolina Gamecocks fan, but more importantly, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his family and cherished every moment spent with them.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Karen Houston Neelands; his daughter, Jennifer Pope (Jonathan); his sons, Ryan Neelands and Andrew “Andy” Neelands (Cassie); his grandchildren, Woody Thompson, Emmalee Thompson, Marshall Neelands, and Liam Pope; and his siblings, Gail Hartman and Robert Neelands (Kim).
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Robert Thompson, Jr., and his brothers, Bill Neelands and Ken Neelands.
