Michael Grayson

James Michael “Kid” Grayson, 34, of Smyrna, SC passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC 29745. A memorial service celebrating Michael’s life will be held at 4 pm Wednesday at Bratton Funeral Home’s chapel with Reverend Danny Sexton officiating.

Michael was born on April 6, 1988 in York County. He graduated from York Comprehensive High School class of 2006 and worked as a devoted pipe welder. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a talented guitar player.

Michael is survived by his daughters Braylee and Kaylee Grayson; former wife, Brandi Buckley, father James “Jimmy” Grayson (Lisa), mother Jaye Dawkins Grayson (Butch); brothers, Tom Grayson (Rita), and Hunter Grayson (Hunter Neely); paternal grandmother, Sarah Grayson, maternal grandmother, Joyce McElveen; and extended family members.

Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ike Grayson and maternal grandfather, William “Bill” McElveen.
