Michael Dwaine Dover, Sr.

 Michael Dwaine Dover, Sr., age 33, of York, SC, passed away at Prisma Health Richland County in Columbia, SC on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC. The funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 2pm at Kingdom Church, 2105 Old York Rd York, SC, with the Rev. Jason Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens of York.

Michael entered his heavenly home on 5/21/24 after years of struggling with diabetes. Michael faced many challenges, and he faced them with unwavering courage. Despite his struggles, Michael’s moments of clarity revealed a wonderful man, a son, a friend, a father and a mentor. His absence leaves a void that nothing can fill but the memories of his warmth, laughter and resilience will forever echo in our hearts. He was loved by so many people, he touched the lives of almost everyone he ever met. Michael left a huge hole in all of our hearts; he will be deeply missed.

Michael is survived by his mother, Michelle Renee Darty Dover, his father, Michael Lynn Dover, his grandmother, Margaret Darty, and his son, Michael Dwaine Dover, Jr. Also surviving are his siblings, Travis Michael Dover, Keith Lee Dover, and Cindy Nicole Hamilton. Also, his nieces and nephews, Bonnie Hamilton, Karleigh Hamilton, Gracie Dover, Heavenlee Kluts, Cayden Dover, Aiden Hamilton, and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael Dover, Sr. was a beloved son, father, brother, cousin and friend. To know Michael was to love Michael.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Alvin Darty, Don Wyatt, and Willie Dover, and his grandmother Joanne Wyatt.
