Mary Liston (Lee) Smith

Mrs. Mary Liston Lee Smith, 85, of York, SC passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Mesopotamia United Methodist Church, 114 Mesopotamia Rd. Gaffney, SC with Rev. Gene Pace and Pastor Matt Burrell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall following the burial.

Born on June 5, 1940, in Cherokee County SC, Mary was the daughter of the late Charles Liston Lee and Annie Mae McCullough Lee.

Surviving is her husband, Franklin David Smith; her children, Olivia Lee Smith and David Smith. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Caleb Smith, Lyric Smith, Sullivan Smith and Sophia Smith; and her siblings, Johnston Lee (Nancy), Jerry Lee, and Ann Newton.

Memorials may be made in Mary’s name to Mesopotamia United Methodist Church, 114 Mesopotamia Church Rd., Gaffney, SC 29340.
