Mary (Tessenear) Childers

Mrs. Mary Tessenear Childers, age 72, of York, SC, passed away on Wednesday June 25, 2025 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy, York, SC 29745. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Clifford Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in York, SC.

Mary was born on February 22, 1953, in Gaffney, SC. She was the daughter of the late Fay Tessenear and Flora Wyatt Tessenear.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Richard Childers; her sons, Steve Peterson, Kenneth Peterson, Rodney Peterson, and Paul Petterson and her step sons Randy E. Childers and John C. Childers.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother Joe Tessenear and her step-son Ricky Dean Childers.
