Mary Elizabeth (Daniels) Brakefield

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Brakefield., age 78, of York, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday October 27, 2025, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy, York, SC.    The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Filbert Hwy, York, SC.

Lib was born on November 12, 1946, in Rock Hill, SC. She was the daughter of the late William Daniels, Jr.  and Ethel Aline Wallace Daniels and the widow of Marvin Frank Brakefield. She was a member of Living by Faith Baptist Church in York.

She is survived by her son’s Bobby Brakefield and Ricky Brakefield, her grandchildren, Robert Allen Brakefield, Seth Lawrence Brakefield, Savana Lynn Brakefield, and Syera Layne Brakefield. She is also survived by her siblings, Nancy Stokes, Ethel Brandon, David Daniels (Denise), Donald Daniels, Bobby Wallace (Debbie), Mary Ann Daniels, Nancy Rouse, Wayne Daniels, Debbie Sowell, and Earl Childers.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lib was preceded in death by her siblings, Nellie Latimore, James Daniels, and Sheila Childers.
