Mary Alice (McDaniel) Nichols

Mrs. Mary Alice McDaniel Nichols, age 77, of Hickory Grove, SC passed away at her home on Thursday, May 30, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1pm at Harmony Baptist Church, 5685 Hwy 97, Hickory Grove, SC 29717 with the Rev. Tom Hope and Roger Ham officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Alice was born on September 22, 1946, in Cowpens, SC. She was the daughter of the late Marvin Miller McDaniel and Mary Geneva Phillips McDaniel.  She retired as an office assistant with J. L. Gaddy Wholesale Co.

Alice is survived by her husband James “Jimmy” Wray Nichols, Jr., her granddaughter Sophie Miller Plaxco and numerous nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her son Richard Brian Moss, and her brothers, Jimmy McDaniel, John McDaniel, Floyd McDaniel and Lloyd McDaniel.
