Mark Zegilla

Mr. Mark Adam Zegilla, 65, of Smyrna, SC passed away Monday, March 16, 2026. Born January 26, 1961, at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska, Mark was the son of the late Mary Zegilla and Frank Zegilla of Crossville, Tennessee.

In his early years, Mark spent time in Wallkill, NY and Crossville, TN where he met his future bride, Brenda, to whom he was married for 45 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Military for 10 years. His dedication to the Army allowed him to serve in Fort Sill, OK, Fort Greely, AK, and Fort Knox, KY.  

After his military service, Mark had a career in the construction industry.  He loved his career. Through hard work and commitment, he worked his way through the ranks of being a well-respected mechanic to a known, dedicated, and award-winning salesperson.  

Mark enjoyed hunting, attending church, Tennessee Vols Football, coaching softball, and spending time with his grandchildren. He liked to travel and spend time with family and friends. He was a deacon and faithful member of Temple Baptist Church in Gastonia, NC.  

Mark is survived by his wife, Brenda Zegilla of Smyrna, SC; three brothers, Mike Zegilla, Butch Zegilla, and Adam Zegilla; two sisters, Rosemayre Harmon and Julie Hale; three daughters, Cyndy McKinney of Bessemer City, NC; Casey Walawender (James) of Sylva, NC; Candice Zegilla of Columbia, SC; and a son, Logan Zegilla (Ashley) of Catawba, SC; and four grandchildren, Waylon McKinney, Thomas Walawender, Josephine Walawender, and Parker Zegilla; and his many faithful and loving friends. 

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation held Friday, April 17th, 2026, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Bratton Funeral Home in York, SC.
