Margie (Mitchell) McCarter

Mrs. Margie Mitchell McCarter, age 88, of York, SC passed away at home on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024.     

Visitation will be Saturday, January 4th, 2025 from 10 AM until 11 AM at Adnah Church, 1 Adnah Dr. Rock Hill, SC 29732. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Angela Pleasants.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, York, SC.

Margie was born on November 1, 1936, in Rock Hill, SC. She was the daughter of the late Henry Ward “Doc” Mitchell and Ethel Allen Mitchell. She was a member of Adnah Church.

Margie is survived by her husband, Marion Neil McCarter, Sr.; her children, Dr. Marion Neil McCarter, Jr. (Tana) and Brenda McCarter Jackson; her 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Clyde Mitchell and Joe Mitchell (Jo).

In addition to her parents Margie was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Jones and Sara Emma Brice.
