Margie (Barnett) Childers

Mrs. Margie Barnett Childers, age 88, of York, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Eastview Baptist Church, 1430 Gordon Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732, officiated by Reverend Chris Mitchell. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.

Margie was born on November 30, 1937, in Sharon. She was the daughter of the late Henry Clay Barnett and Rusha Hines Barnett. A devoted member of Eastview Baptist Church, Margie found great joy in serving others and especially loved preparing meals for her family. She was also an avid supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks and enjoyed following their sports programs. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Beattie “Buggs” Albert Childers, Jr.; her son, Charles Derek Childers; and her sister, Myrtle Ann Jones.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her son, Tony Childers; and her brothers, Henry James “Jim” Barnett and Claude “Top” Barnett.
