Margaret (Smoak) Ramsey

Mrs. Margaret Smoak Ramsey age 85, of York, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Filbert Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall with funeral services to follow the visitation in the Church Fellowship Hall, officiated by Reverend Dr. David Hall and Reverend Wallace Tinsley. Internment will continue at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Margaret was born on August 23, 1940 in York, SC. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Edmund Smoak, Sr. and Elizabeth Brown Smoak. She was a member of Filbert Presbyterian Church and was a retired office manager at Cannon Mills in York.

She is survived by her husband, William Franklin Ramsey, her children, Rosalyn Phillips (Chris), Frances Penny Roper, and Billy Ramsey (Dana); her siblings; Phyllis Stanton (Steve), Charles Smoak (Ann), and Linda Wray (Leroy). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas E. Smoak, Jr.
