Margaret (Bell) Pursley

Margaret Bell Pursley, 88, of Hickory Grove, SC passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 peacefully at her home and surrounded by her loving family.

The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 PM at Mt. Vernon UMC on Saturday, October 2, 2021 and other times at the family's home in Hickory Grove. The funeral service will be on Saturday at the church at 4PM and burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Margaret was born on June 6, 1933 in Hickory Grove, SC. She was the daughter of the late Robert “Lec” Lester Bell and Addie Martin Bell and was the widow of Emuel “Sonny” Mason Pursley. She was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Hickory Grove, SC.

Margaret is survived by her son, Kelly Pursley and his wife Sandy, grandchildren, Kelly D. Pursley, II and Krystal McNutt, seven great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, sister Peggy Carr (George), and brother Buddy Bell (Aileen).

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her sisters Ruth Wright, Louise Cummins, Hazel Walker and brothers Carl Bell and Dean Bell.

The family would like to thank Providence Hospice Care for their tender support and care, and caregivers Sandra Hewitt, Audrey Gibson, Belinda Grant, and Shirley Gill who all came to love Margaret as their own. They are no longer friends, but family.
