Lyndel Maloney White

Mr. Lyndel Maloney White, age 79, of Sharon, SC, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, August 25, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastors James Locklair and Mike Goodwin officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

Lyndel was born on January 10, 1946, in York County, the son of the late James McElwee White and Margaret Malinda Hope White. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary Lou Childers White. Lyndel attended Unity at Calvary Church of God and worked as an engineer before his retirement. He had a deep love for the outdoors, and when not with family or at work, he could often be found in the woods sitting in a deer stand. To his grandchildren, Pawpaw will always be a Legend and never be forgotten. “We had amazing memories and we won’t forget you.”

He is survived by his son, James “Billy” White (Sirena); his grandchildren, Kristen White, James White, and David White; his great-grandson, Jordan “JJ” Shirah; and his brother, Paul White.

In addition to his wife and parents, Lyndel was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob White, Sam White, Jimmy White, Billy White, and Joe Meek White; and his sisters, Margaret Payne, Isabelle Moore, and Lois Weller.
