Lawrence Eugene Ramsey

Lawrence Ramsey, 86, of York, SC passed away on Sunday February 23, 2025 at Piedmont Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Rawlinson Road Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC, the funeral service will start at 2:30 PM with Reverend Howard Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.

Lawrence was born on April 8,1938, in York, SC. He was the son of the late Roy Ramsey and Ola Montgomery Ramsey. And the widower of Carolyn Morrison Ramsey. He was a member of Rawlinson Road Baptist Church and retired from Field Crest Cannon as a maintenance superintendent and also a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard.

Lawrence is survived by his daughter, Lori Ramsey Torrence (Skip), son, Lance Edward Ramsey (Rebecca Garner Ramsey), and grandchildren, Alexis and Luke Torrence and Amelia Ramsey. Also, his siblings, Nancy Lanier, Joyce Montgomery (Wayne), and Sarah Shank.

In addition to his parents, and his wife he was preceded in death by his son Lawrence Andrew Ramsey, along with his siblings, Mamie Brady, Edna Rollins, and Wallace Ramsey,
