Kenneth Ezell Montgomery

Kenneth “Kent” Ezell Montgomery, 86, of Smyrna, SC passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

The funeral service will be on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 1:00pm at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Sharon, SC with Pastor Bill Hawley officiating. The family will receive friends following the funeral service in the Hartness Fellowship Hall. A graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 4:00pm.

Kent was born on March 3, 1935 in Smyrna, SC. He was the son of the late Fred Montgomery and Bertha Bolin Montgomery.  Kent was the owner and operator of Kenneth E. Montgomery Land Clearing. He was a lifelong member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder, Deacon and Trustee. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Kent is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy Burgess Montgomery, daughter, Lori Allen (Scott); grandson, Craig Hudson (Loriann), great-grandchildren, Landon and Beckett; granddaughter, Casey Patterson (Ryan), great-grandchildren, Luke and Hayes; granddaughter, Christin Hudson (Tyler), great-grandchildren, Hayden and Scottie.

Daughter Angie Smarr; granddaughter, Dana Thomas (Marshall), great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Grant; granddaughter, Elizabeth Dover (Zach), grandchildren, Adalee, Montgomery, Asher and Silas; grandson Jack Smarr (Taylor); grandson Matt Smarr (Emma).

In addition to his parents Kent was preceded in death by his sister Margie M. Meek, and his brother Odis Montgomery.
