Katherine Sue (Hill) Alexander

Katherine “Kathy” Sue Hill Alexander, 74, of York, SC passed away peacefully from complications related to cancer on Friday, November 11, 2022.

The family will receive friends from 3-4pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC. A memorial service celebrating the life of Kathy will start at 4pm in the funeral home’s chapel with Rev. Vince Tharpe officiating.

Kathy grew up in Rock Hill, SC and spent the last fifty years in York, SC raising her family. She was a lifelong member of Eastside Baptist Church where she served as church hostess, choir member, and event coordinator. She was also a caregiver for Caring Hearts Companions.

Her laugh and smile were infectious. She enjoyed “mothering” all of the local kids that flowed through her home over the years and was known by names including: “Wife, Mother, Daughter, Nana, Sister, Kathy, Khacki, Khacki Poo, and Friend”.

Kathy leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Robert “Bob” Davison Alexander, III, her daughter, Katherine “Michelle” Curry, her sons, David “Dwayne” Curry and his wife, Alisha Patterson Curry, and Jason “Jay” Scott Alexander. She is also survived by her brothers, Kenneth Bernard Hill, Danny Lee Hill, sister-in-law, Sheila Haire Hill and sister, Janice Kay Clark Feemster; and six grandchildren who were the angels of her life: Madeline Brooke Curry, Austin Jay Alexander, Alexis Faith Alexander, McKenzie Alexandria Tharpe Miller, Aaron Tristan Alexander, and Avin Scott.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Bernard Hill and Beatrice Horton Hill Whitesides, her sister, Martha Joann Wright, and her brother-in-law, Scotty Alexander.
