Mrs. Judy Ann Dover Turrill, 62, of Sharon, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bratton Funeral Home, located at 1455 Filbert Hwy., York, SC 29745. A graveside service will be held the following day at 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Brad Vassey.
Judy was born on October 7, 1962, in York, SC, to the late Bud Dover and Flora Lee May Dover. She was best known as “The Hot Dog Lady,” self-employed and often stationed in the parking lot of Lowe’s in York. Judy’s delicious hot dogs and unforgettable slaw were only outshined by the warmth of her smile, which brightened the days of all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John Turrill; her son, Billy Dwayne Dover; her daughter, Susan Marie Currie (Robert); her beloved grandchildren, Skyler Stone, Erica Dover, and Olivia Dover; and her sister, Diane Dover (William “John” Snow).
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sister, Lisa Hutchinson, and her brother, James Arnold Dover.
In honor of Judy’s love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of York County, 8177 Regent Parkway, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
