Mr. John “Johnny” Clawson Ramsey, Jr., age 67, of McConnells, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

A memorial service celebrating Johnny’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Liberty Church, 410 Blessed Hope Road, York, SC 29745, with Pastor Matt Burrell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.

Born on March 28, 1959, in York, South Carolina, Johnny was the son of the late John “Pete” Clawson Ramsey, Sr. and Elizabeth Cobb Ramsey English.

Johnny was truly a jack of all trades—a hardworking, dependable man who never met a stranger. Known for his generous spirit, he was always willing to lend a helping hand and would gladly give someone the shirt off his back. He loved meeting people and building friendships wherever he went. Whether he was hunting, working outdoors, tackling yard projects, or helping others with tools and equipment, Johnny enjoyed staying busy and being hands-on. He was often the first person friends and neighbors called when they needed advice, a tool, or assistance with a project.

Johnny will be remembered for his kindness, selflessness, and genuine love for people. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving sister, Lisa Ramsey Deal, his Aunt Janet Childers, and numerous friends who became family throughout his life.
