Joel Michael Dawkins

Joel “Joey” Michael Dawkins, 56, of Rock Hill, SC passed away on October 28, 2021.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, November 1, 2021 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends and loved ones 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Joey was born on August 4, 1965 in Rock Hill, SC. He is the son of Joyce McElveen and the late John M. Dawkins. He was a hard- working welder by trade who studied at York High School and York Technical College. He was known by those he loved for his humor, charming personality and love of Clemson football.

Joey is survived by his daughter, Cody Dawkins, former wife, Debra Dawkins, mother, Joyce McElveen, sister, Jaye Grayson, brother, Matthew McElveen, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Joey is preceded in death by his father, John M. Dawkins, brother, Jeffrey Dawkins, grandparents, T.L. Sowell, Edwina Arthur Sowell as well as Luke and Willie Mae Dawkins.
