Jim Ball, Sr.

James John Ball, Sr., “Jim”, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024.

A vigil will begin at 3pm on Saturday, February 10th, 2024 at Divine Saviour Catholic Church, 232 Herndon Ave. York, SC 29745,  with the Funeral Mass starting at 5 pm. Burial will be held at 11am on Monday, February 12th at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Jim was born on January 14th, 1941 in Syracuse, NY. He was the son of the late William J. Ball, Sr. and Anna V. Connell Ball. He worked as a Nuclear Procedure Writer before becoming an Ordained Deacon of the Catholic Church. Jim loved spending time with his family and always enjoyed wetting a line in a favorite fishing hole with his sons.

Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy Joncas Ball; his children: Maryellen Stearns (Mel), Kevin Ball (Donna), Mike Ball (Sherri), and Tim Ball (Tina); and his daughter-in-law, Andrea Ball. Also surviving are his fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, his sisters, Agnes MacMaster and Ann Marie Ball CSJ, and his brother-in-law, Leo Joncas.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, James Ball, Jr “JB”, his sister, Margaret Costello and his brother, William J. Ball, Jr.
