Mr. Jackie “Jack” Thurman Shepherd, age 80, of Sharon, SC, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Agape House of Lexington in Lexington, SC.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on May 17, 2026, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Hwy, York, SC 29745. A memorial service celebrating Jack’s life will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Reverend Roger Shuford officiating.
Jack was born on May 17, 1945, in Floyd County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Kelly Shepherd, Sr. and Mary Ann Crisp Shepherd. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. Jack was known for his unwavering work ethic, his generosity, and deep love for his family. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also had a special place in his heart for animals, and his loyal companion, “Sky” brought him such joy and laughter.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Ogden Shepherd; his daughters, Justine Perotti (David) of Winter Haven, FL and Laura Fitzpatrick (Robert) of Rock Hill, SC; and his cherished granddaughter, Sydney Shepherd of Columbia SC. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Routt (Larry) of Stone Mountain, GA and Mary Spears of East Point, KY, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Gordon Shepherd, Kelly Shepherd, Jr., and John Shepherd.
