Ivy Destiny McCray

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Miss. Ivy Destiny McCray, who departed this life on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Blacksburg, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Bratton Funeral Home, located at 1455 Filbert Hwy, York, SC 29745. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054.

Born on September 9, 2023, in Greenville, SC, Ivy brought endless joy and love into the lives of everyone she touched. She was known for her sweet spirit, infectious giggles, and deep affection for her cherished teddy bears, minnie mouse, stuffed animals, and her favorite teacher, Ms. Rachel. More than anything, Ivy loved to be held in the arms of those who loved her. She was the proud big sister to Ava Marie McCray and will always be remembered for the love and warmth she shared in her short but meaningful life.

Ivy is survived by her loving mother, Katelyn Marie Mullinax, and father, Antonio “Tony” McCray; her beloved sister, Ava Marie McCray; her grandparents, Crystal Lanier, Ebbie Mullinax (Chasity Smith), Yelanda McCray, Mary Ellen Buehring, and Sandy Brown. She is also survived by her great grandmother Pat McMahan along with her aunts; Emily Moss (Corbin) and Cheyenne Harris (Jake); uncles, Chris Mullinax (Ashley), Bradley Mullinax (Kelsey), Nick Procassini, and Kulisi River. Ivy was preceded in death by her grandfather, Douglas Robinson and her uncle, Douglas Robinson, Jr.

In honor of Ivy’s memory, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.
