Mrs. Imogene Morrow Comer, age 87, of York, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Westminster Health and Rehabilitation in Rock Hill, SC.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Union Baptist Church, 1945 Ratchford Rd., York, SC. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary, officiated by Pastor Tony Klinedinst. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
Born in York on September 14, 1938, Imogene was the daughter of the late Miles Walker Morrow and Jessie Bailes Morrow and the widow of Paul Richard Comer. She retired as a secretary with the Rock Hill School District after 20 years of service where she enjoyed working with the children and made a tremendous impact on their lives. She was a Sunday School teacher and devoted member of Union Baptist Church. She loved flower gardening and her favorite color purple, and she and her husband were faithful South Carolina Gamecock fans who had season tickets for 29 years. She loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and made all birthdays and holidays special.
Imogene is survived by her sons, Tony Comer (Marge’), Danny Comer (Denise), her daughter, Paula C. McFarland (Ozzie); grandchildren, Rebecca Donaldson (Jeremy), Bishop Comer, John Austin Cooper (fiance’ Hannah,) Colin Cooper, and great grandchildren, Caylee Donaldson, Caroline Donaldson, Georgia Donaldson, Jack Donaldson, Rowan Cooper and Ryleigh Revels. She is also survived by her sister Joyce M. Ledbetter along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Lonnie W. Morrow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Union Baptist Church, 1945 Ratchford Rd or a charity of one’s choice.
