Ida Kathleen (Smith) Gilliam

Mrs. Catherine Gilliam, “MawMaw”, age 89, of Clover, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday March 20th, 2026 at her daughter’s home. 

A graveside service will be 3:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Hwy, York, SC, with Rev. Dickie Spargo officiating.

Catherine was born on June 18th, 1936 in Newberry, SC. She was the daughter of the late Paul Smith and Pearl Jenkins Smith. She was the widow of Thomas Jesse Gilliam.

She is survived by her children Frank Gilliam, Barbara Gann (Tommy), and Theresa Gilliam; grandchildren Tiffany Golden (Jay), Brad Gann (Gabby), Brittany Ellis (Kipp), Colt Gilliam (Heather), and Tyler Rice (Halee); her great grandchildren, Emory Golden, Eason Golden, Brantley Gann, Landry Gann, Willow Ellis, and Myles Gilliam.

In addition to her parents and husband, Catherine was preceded in death by 7 siblings.
