Harold Lewis Mize

  Commander (US Navy Retired) Harold “Tiny” Lewis Mize, age 84, of York, SC passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Westminster Health and Rehab in Rock Hill, SC.

Tiny was born on December 19, 1938, in Cotton Valley, LA.  He was the son of Edward Lewis Mize and Beatrice Pate Mize. Tiny was a veteran of the US Air Force and later retired from the US Navy as a naval fighter pilot. Tiny was a pilot for Braniff International Airlines, and Piedmont Airlines, which became US Air.   He retired as a commercial airline pilot for US Air.  He was a member of Kings Mountain Chapel UMC.

Tiny is survived by his wife, Brenda Drewery Mize; his children, Susan Maddie (“son-in-law” Ken), Brett Mize (Kristy) and Randall Mize; his grandchildren, Blair DellaMea (John), Nicholas Mize, Brooke Maddie (Mark), Matthew Mize, Katelyn Mize, and Bailey Maddie (Ryan), Reagan Mize, Ryan Mize, and Reid Mize

In addition to his parents, Tiny is preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda K. Mize.

A Memorial Celebration service with military honors will be held at York International Airport, Goins Lane, York, SC on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00AM.
