Gary Allen Pierce

YORK – Gary Allen Pierce, 58, of York, SC departed this earthly life Friday, September 17, 2021 after a short illness. Gary loved his family and was a wonderful father, brother, and a great friend to many. If ever you needed help, Gary would be the first to be there. Gary enjoyed watching football, working in his yard and spending time with family and friends. Gary can now soar and fly high like the American Eagles he loved.

Gary was born on January 23, 1963 in Dunkirk, NY. He was the son of the late Herbert W. Pierce, Jr. and Nancy Groves Pierce. He worked for Bedgear, Inc. and was a veteran of the US ARMY. He lived in New York and Florida, but moved to York, SC more than a decade ago to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Kristen Sue Davis, York SC, and Jessica Lea Davis, Shelby, NC.  His grandchildren Taylor Childers, NC, Joseph Davis, NC, Jordan McCormick, NC, Jalyn Penley, SC and his great-grandchild Cecilia Childers, NC. His brothers Larry Pierce, Fla., Leon Pierce, Tx., Donald Pierce, NY, and sister Marcia Overbeck, NY. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Harry Pierce and sister Roxann Gross.
